Though there was small difference about the netherworld, the place where the sinner got condemned for their sin or the place where Good people according to their culture went to paradise, the common point was a Gathering place for the deceased.

The demon prince who snapped out of his shock then calmly asked her while looking into her eyes.
Enma was spellbound, she felt as if a chill was running down her spine every time she recalled the sharp glint in the demon prince's eyes. Then she realized one of the reasons why she preferred Jilbagias. If it was replaced with the other demon race, the first thing they would say upon hearing that would be something along the lines of What are you talking about, idiot! or I wasted my time on such bu*llsh*it!.
That was the rudest cuss toward the No Life King, the expert of death! And yet, Jilbagias proved that he really did respect her as the practitioner of secret art and stated the most logical question.

Enma replied with a triumphant face.
This place, the world we hold this very conversation in is called the material world. And like the flip side of the same coin, the spirit world exists on the opposite side of this world. That spiritual world is the destination of the soul of a deceased person And I had already reached the deepest part of that world.
Enma spoke while shrugging her shoulders as if it was a piece of cake.

When Enma asked them, the jaw of the skeleton guards moved up and down, replying frankly to her.
In fact, they really enjoyed their job as the gatekeeper.

That was the starting point of Enma who was later hailed as the No Life King(Lich).
One soul is the source of emotion. And there's a reason that becomes the foundation of the emotion. Together, the foundation of emotion and the construction of reason are called ego.
That was what the master who revived Enma said while he taught her about necromancy.
The ego of undead are the reconstructed reason using magical power using that emotion as its' base.
"That's what happens when you learn necromancy, and it's called the transformation of the soul" added her master.
The difference between high-rank undead and low-rank undead is the difference between their soul, or should I say, their foundation. Frail foundation is akin to a dilapidated hut. On the other hand, strong foundation is akin to a fort
Said her master who was nothing but skin and bones.

"Is there really a land of death at the bottom of the barrel of the spirit world?" That was the reason why her master dove into the abyss, only to get swallowed by it.
