Chapter 7: It turned out to be true that drinking cold water when you have bad luck can fill the gaps in your teeth.
When Chen Xiao got stuck in the alley, he wondered what could make him run into so many bad things at once?!
First off, let’s not talk about how he bought vegetables that ended up being fake but when he looked around the stall was gone; he could only bear the pain and buy it again. And then when he was at the supermarket, the alarm went off, who knows what fucking idiot threw stolen items in his bag! Chen Xiao really thought he could apply for the Top Ten Most Unlucky of the Year Award. And then – just as he was talking a shortcut to easily go through the alley that shortened the route home, he happened upon a robbery, for the first time ever in his life!
He took a deep breath. He didn’t know if it was because of the rain or the fear, but his hand was shaking a little, thinking, the rain is so loud, if I called out, probably no one would hear it, right? There were only two people opposite him, their faces covered by a cloth and their knives shining bright in their hands pointing at Chen Xiao. He hesitated, knowing he had a poor chance of winning and that it was more important to preserve his life.
“I, I only have a little money on me, you can take it.” He tossed the wallet straight out and it was caught by the other side. “Just let me go now……”
One guy was staring at him, while the other turned out his wallet.
The man spoke out in a loud voice, “Fuck, why is there so little money?! Not enough to eat a meal…….” Chen Xiao didn’t quite understand, he only knew that he probably wouldn’t be able to leave safely. Who knew he was going to get robbed?! If he knew, he would have brought more money!
He took advantage of the moment when the other guy went to check his wallet, swinging his umbrella at them. So he stopped caring and when he caught something in his mouth, he bit down. Feeling the hands pressing him down go loose, he jumped up towards the man in front of him and kicked him in a flurry like a mad man.
“Let’s see how you steal! Let’s see how you were raised poorly!”
The other side was probably stunned by his appearance so, for a moment, he didn’t fight back. Without saying anything else, Chen Xiao ran, thinking it was useful to act crazy.
When he was finally standing on his doorstep, Chen Xiao thought it was a miracle he was still alive. His whole body was tired and sore and he was drenched from the rain. He just wanted to lay down and sleep as soon as he closed his eyes. The blood from the wound on his forehead was still trickling down, mixed with the rain water, so his appearance was probably pretty frightening.
He smelled a scent drifting out of Gu MengYang’s house, oh…..he must have cooked for himself….. Chen Xiao looked down at his empty hands, thinking about how hard it had been to pick out good ingredients and how it was shameful to waste food. His wallet was gone too, though there had only been a few yuan in there. But the wallet itself was worth hundreds and, what’s worse, the dinner bearing his hopes had been smashed to pieces……
Chen Xiao stared at Gu MengYang’s house. He wiped his face and saw his hands were covered with bloody water. He didn’t know how to handle feeling like he was wronged, more wronged than when he was dumped by He JinFei. Why am I always the one no one loves and no one prefers over others, even though I always fawn over people to try to win them over? Why can’t you like me too?
After standing for a moment, he turned dejectedly to open the door to his own house. He touched his pocket and luckily the key was still there. He thought, finally the heavens gave me a break.
“Chen Xiao?!”
The door behind him was suddenly opened and Gu MengYang’s voice entered his ears, “Why did you come back so late? Did you eat? Eat with me if you haven’t eaten.”
……Fuck! What kind of tear-jerker story can I use right now! Chen Xiao choked on his words. Not looking back, he opened his mouth to speak hoarsely, “I just ate downstairs, you eat on your own.”
“Oh……” There was a hint of loss in Gu MengYang’s tone. Then he added right away, “Then you come over and we’ll watch TV together. I bought a sweet watermelon.”

The bloody water was in his hair and there was also gritty, sandy mud. He felt like he had been slapped hard. In addition to anger, there was an emotion he couldn’t name; in any case, his sanity was almost burned away.
“What happened……”
Chen Xiao looked up at Gu MengYang in a daze. His eyelashes were clotted together with blood and he could barely even open his eyes, but he was a little frightened by the dark expression on the other’s face, a kind he had never seen on Gu MengYang, who had always been gentle and shy. It was like he was a different person.

“Where did that happen.” Gu MengYang’s voice was still cold.
