Chapter 190 - You Are All Alone!
Qin Hua gently placed the elder on the ground and Coco immediately started healing him.
She used her skill [Healing waters] and warm nourishing liquid enveloped the old man gently healing him wave after wave.
Qin Hua couldn't help but be surprised by her proficiency in controlling mana and executing the spell. At least just judging from the appearance, it looked extremely masterful.
[Good job, Coco!] Qin Hua patted the cat with her paw which made the feline beast reveal a big smile. She felt more excited now and happily continued executing the spell slowly healing the charred skin of the elder.
Alex and Lu Chen had also arrived by now and they silently watched the show without interrupting.
If it was previously, such a severe injury would only mean death but now, right in front of their eyes, the person who was just a step away from the death's door was being successfully healed!
Everyone held their breaths and waited patiently for a couple more seconds. Coco continued healing and soon the elder seemed to be doing much better.
He breathed in and out freely without any trouble and was resting with his eyes closed. [Woof! Purple stay here with Coco, I will see if anyone else is hurt.]
Qin Hua bolted again into the fire to see if anyone else from their group was caught. Alex watched the big black dog in a daze and then shook her head, snapping out of trance.
"Lu Chen, these fools seemed to have started the whole thing. Can you stay here and keep an eye on things? Let me just make sure everyone else is alright."
"Ok. Sounds good." Lu Chen nodded. "Good girl." He bent down to pat the cat awkwardly, but she didn't seem as pleased as when Qin Hua had done the same thing.
Lu Chen smiled bitterly and sat down to watch the burning flames, all around them, also keeping an eye on the elder.
Because of the dense vegetation, the fire had caught up very quickly, and perhaps some external fuel was also added to make sure that everything was burnt down.
Was this just to scare them? Or did they plan something else? The smile on his face disappeared and Lu Chen coldly looked in the direction where the water purification facility was located.
Alex, meanwhile, continued moving in and out of the fires and searching if anyone else got hurt.
She even saw several dead beasts which she immediately picked up as they were conveniently roasted already, maybe slightly overcooked but she didn't care about that.
As she was busily searching around, she had reached the perimeter of the fire and a loud voice suddenly sounded near her.
"Would you look at that! The filthy rats are at it again!"
Alex looked up to see a group of ten well-built men standing in front of her, including two familiar faces.
"What are you looking at bitch? Leave the pouch tied to your waist and get the fuck out of here!" One of the men loudly spat out.
Alex, however, did not look at him. Her gaze was fixed on someone else, particularly the guy who was standing at the back.
Fang Yuan looked away not meeting her eyes. Besides him, Geming was also standing as the two of them had come out with the group to see why there was a fire all of a sudden.
Except for both of them, the others were the same group of people who had been crossing paths with Alex these past few days and taunting her and the rest of her team purposefully.
Considering that Alex or any of the others had never once responded to the taunts, the other party was pretty casual and began once again insulting and taunting her without holding back.
They already knew that she wouldn't say anything back no matter what names they called her!
Alex shifted her gaze from Fang Yuan to look at the dog that was barking at her.
"Huh? Fuck! You dare to look at me? Looks like you have become a little bolder today."
"He He. Don't worry I like it. I like bold women like you. Your looks also aren't too bad."
As the man mouthed these words, his eyes dragged down her figure, looking at her curves that were slightly revealed as her clothes were destroyed here and there because of the fire.
"Tsk. Tsk. Not bad at all! Beauty, how about you come with me? I will take good care of you. I am not yet married you know." The man winked.
"And don't even think about refusing me today. He He. Baby, look behind you." He paused, waiting for Alex to actually look behind but she showed no signs of moving.
The man's face slightly changed. Nevertheless, he continued. "Bitch, you are all alone today. I can do whatever I want to you."
He licked his lips obscenely and took a step towards Alex. She, on the other hand, calmly stood as if she was waiting for him to come closer to her.
At the back, both Fang Yuan and Geming were sweating profusely. Why were these fools behaving so rashly? Have they really lost it?
The slightest amount of power had gone straight to their heads!
Normally, that wouldn't have been an issue, but the duo knew very well that if this was prolonged even for another second, they were definitely going to lose their heads.
To prevent the inevitable massacre, Fang Yuan cleared his throat and quickly ran out to the front. He removed his jacket and extended it to Alex. "Sorry about that. We will be leaving now. Aha ha ha."
"What the fuck?" The leader who was mouthing off all this time still did not get the drift and looked completely enraged.
"Fang Yuan! This is my party! You have no right to crash! Get the FUCK OUT!" He quickly grabbed the jacket in his hand and threw it into the raging fire behind them.
