Strolling merrily through the festive streets, I spotted a familiar face in a slightly quieter café on the edge of town.
The brick café had a terrace, and a young man with blue hair was sitting in a shaded seat under a sunshade-like roof, holding a cup to his lips with a melancholic expression. Some of the café's patrons were captivated by his appearance, but he seemed oblivious.
“Speyside-san.”
At the sound of my voice, Speyside set down his cup and looked at me.
“……Aoi-sensei. It's unusual to meet you here.”
Looking at me, Speyside replied with slightly less energy than usual. He definitely seemed down.
“Is something the matter? You seem very down.”

“Would you like a drink? My treat.”

The number of people thinned out, and the atmosphere and clothing of the people walking down the street changed.

Then, I heard a deep male voice. When I looked, there was a large man standing there.
“I believe that's…Early-san of the Nevis family?”
As I murmured, the man nodded deeply.

Early said with a cheerful look. Initially, Early came to this town and immediately visited the Nevis family, heard rumours of me, and challenged me. After that however, for some reason, he started calling me ‘Boss’. I asked him to call me by my name at least, but in the end, it made no difference as it was still noticeable when a tough-looking big man approached me so familiarly.
“So, what business did you have in this place? If you need help, I’ll lend a hand.”
Early, like a pet dog, approached me with shining eyes. He probably wouldn't give up easily, and it wouldn't be troublesome, so I might as well get his help.
Thinking this, I nodded.
“I'm going to buy some fire and water magic stones… and I also want copper ore, and mithril. Hinami flowers and Aourou grass, and Yellow lotus stones…”
“Wa-wait a minute! I’ll write down what you just said!”
When I spoke of what I was looking for, Early hastily interrupted me and started taking notes. He seemed to be surprisingly meticulous.

“Kalila-san?”
When I replied, Early grinned, showing his teeth, and opened his mouth.
“Yes, that’s right. Then, I’ll be off!”
After saying just that, Earl took off at an incredible speed and quickly disappeared into the alley.
